About Starz Counseling

 I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation. I earned both my Bachelor and Master Degrees in Social Work at Youngstown State University. I began my journey in medical social work within hospice care and long-term care settings and now practice within clinical social work, serving those with addiction and mental health diagnoses. I provide individual counseling to adults, treating a range of mental health issues including grief, depression, anxiety, relational, and trauma response, as well as issues related to adjustment, medical, and end-of-life issues. I utilize an empowerment and strength-based approach with my clients, as well as additional counseling strategies including person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, task-centered practice, and narrative therapy. I believe in all dimensions of wellness -
mental, emotional, spiritual, social, and physical elements - and support clients in promoting and maintaining balance within these dimensions.

I began my journey as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant and now practice within clinical social work, serving those with addiction and mental health diagnoses. I provide individual counseling to adults, treating a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma disorders. My counseling strategies include strength-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy with a focus on supporting and empowering clients along their healing journey.
